A. S. Hartrick
A Painter's Pilgrimage Through Fifty Years
Cambridge University Press 1939

An extract from the book published by Archibald Standish Hartrick B. M,  R. S. W,  O. B. E who lived in Tresham towards the end of the 1890's for 10 years.

A. S. Hartrick (artist, teacher and author) (1864 - 1950) and his wife Lily are buried in Tresham churchyard (shown on the right). The headstones showing here have the name Holborow on some of them and would be the graves of some of the Holborows mentioned in the Tresham chapter of his book.

Hartrick's brother in law was a vicar of Acton Turville.

On the right, pictured in 2002, is the house mentioned in the Tresham chapter of "Archie's" book, where he and his wife Lily lived. The name of the house has now changed from Cherry to Tresham Farm and these days is a working farm house.

"Archie" and Lily's headstone in Tresham churchyard can be seen at the bottom of this page.
